About This Blog

“Action is the antidote to despair!” ~ Joan Baez
In this blog I seek to offer inspiring, empowering, and intelligent seed ideas for making deep and lasting changes in ourselves and our culture.

I know that many of us can feel daunted right now by the crucial survival-threatening issues of our time. I surely can. But I also know that we are not alone and we are not powerless. There are so many good people in this world doing wonderful work — so many traditions we can build upon — and so much human creativity we can help unleash.

Even better, there’s a magical fulcrum power that emerges when we turn and face our challenges, looking at them straight in the eyes. It opens the door to the power and growth needed to move and shift challenges that might have seemed impossible to change before! As in permaculture, the problems reveal the solutions.

And, as we joyfully act for the opportunities hidden in these crises, our frozen pain and resignation can thaw — as we can see beautiful ways to step forward with just the perfect skills and passion needed to create the better future that our deepest hearts seek.

The more we take action, the more we get inspired to take more action, the less despair we feel — creating a positive feedback loop and hope for the future.

Plus, if we can shift these issues at their roots (which is my goal), our actions can become more efficient, effective, and graceful — much faster than just nibbling around the edges.

Some people try to discourage the possibility of creating healing remedies for our current crises. But I say that we don’t have to give up our power, our rights, or our future. Let’s not let anyone convince us otherwise!

TOPIC AREAS
I’ve chosen three domains to start with in this blog — ones that I feel are both mission-critical to the success and joyful emergence that many of us want.

What a difference it could make in our lives if we could find more powerful ways to:
1) RECLAIM our power in DEMOCRACY,
2) HEAL our cultural ABUSE, and
3) REVERSE CLIMATE CHANGE while we still have time.

I think that all three of these crises are connected by similar underlying dynamics and mindsets. Therefore healing them can help provide the level of breakthroughs that we seek!

So I invite you to join me in this exploration of how we can turn today’s CRISES into OPPORTUNITIES, for ourselves individually and collectively.

We can rescue ourselves from the edge of the cliff — head towards the world we desire — and feel more empowered, connected, and joyful along the way.

Let’s see what we together can create!
